🌍 The Noise of the World
It is very easy to be swept up in the narrative of this world.
The media, news and social platforms, broadcast stories of death, destruction, and hopelessness around the clock. We hear of tragedies, disasters, and human brokenness. These stories are often repeated by those around us, as people try to make sense of a world that can feel overwhelming.
But constant exposure to these messages has an effect.
It slowly feeds discouragement.
And discouragement, if left unchecked, can grow into fear.
⚠️ When Fear Takes Hold
Fear often begins subtly.
A “what if” thought here…
A worst-case scenario there…
Before long, our minds can spiral into imagining outcomes that may never happen.
Hopelessness begins to creep in.
Joy feels distant.
Faith feels weakened.
And in some cases, fear can become so overwhelming that it affects our ability to function in everyday life.
💔 My Personal Journey Through Anxiety
Many years ago, I found myself caught in that very cycle.
I became consumed by worry—trying to manage every “what if” in my life. Eventually, this led to panic attacks. At the time, I was not walking with Jesus or actively practicing my faith.
I was prescribed antidepressants, but even then, I still felt anxious and weighed down.
I realized I needed to make some changes.
I stepped away from an unhealthy work environment.
I stopped watching the news, which was fuelling my fear.
These changes helped, but they didn’t fully heal me.
Because the root issue remained.
✨ Where True Freedom Is Found
Looking back now, I understand something deeply:
True freedom from anxiety and fear is found in God.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances…”
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (ESV)
Keith Ferrin once shared that the only way to truly live out our faith is to make the truth of God’s Word louder than the messages of the world.
When we fill our hearts and minds with:
- Who God is
- What He has done
- Who we are in Christ
Something begins to shift.
Hope rises.
Faith strengthens.
Peace takes root.
🙌 A Life Transformed by Faith
When my husband and I returned to the Lord in 2019, everything began to change.
I immersed myself in God’s Word.
I spent time in prayer and worship.
I connected with a church community, joined a prayer group, and became part of a connect/home group.
Gradually, something incredible happened.
I no longer needed my antidepressants.
And there were no negative effects.
About a year later, I enrolled in the School of Faith and continued growing in my understanding of God and my identity in Christ.
I made a conscious decision:
To spend more time with God than with the noise of the world.
I began declaring God’s truth daily.
I stopped agreeing with fear-based conversations.
I chose to focus on His promises instead.
And slowly, but powerfully, everything changed.
🌿 Living in Peace, Not Fear
Today, I can honestly say:
I have not experienced severe anxiety since.
Instead, I live with:
- Deep peace
- Strong faith
- Lasting joy
- Unshakable hope
Not because life is perfect, but because God is faithful.
He is bigger than any fear.
Greater than any uncertainty.
Stronger than any storm.
🌸 You Can Experience This Too
This peace is not just for some, it is for you.
No matter where you are right now, God invites you into a life of freedom.
A life where fear no longer controls you.
A life where His presence steadies your heart.
🌿 Right Now Is Always the Best Time to Begin
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You simply need to take the first step toward Him.
🙏 Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You are greater than every fear and every anxious thought.
Help me to turn my eyes away from the noise of the world and fix them on You.
Fill my heart with Your peace, Your truth, and Your presence.
Teach me to trust You fully and to rest in Your promises.
Bring freedom where there has been fear, and hope where there has been heaviness.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
✨ Activation
Today, take one intentional step:
- Limit one fear-based input (news or social media)
- Spend time reading a passage of Scripture
- Speak one promise of God out loud
And ask yourself:
“Which voice am I choosing to believe today—fear or faith?”
