Working with Kingdom impact: Bringing God’s Presence Into Your Workplace

People in a workplace looking happy demonstrating bringing Jesus' presence and attitude to work

For many of us, a large portion of our lives is spent at work. Yet we don’t always think of our workplace as a place where God can move powerfully.

But what if our everyday work, our conversations, our integrity, and our attitude, could become a powerful expression of God’s Kingdom?

Every interaction we have with colleagues, clients, and customers is an opportunity to reflect His goodness and bring His presence into the world around us.

Our work can become a powerful place of Kingdom influence. In this episode, we explore how our attitude, integrity, and leadership can bring God’s presence into our workplaces and businesses.

Our Everyday Influence

As Christians, we have the opportunity to shine God’s goodness everywhere we go. Our sphere of influence includes our family, neighbours, friends, coworkers, clients, and the wider community around us.

Many people demonstrate the goodness of God simply through the way they live, their integrity, their compassion, their work ethic, and their kindness.

Our behaviour, our speech, and the way we interact with the world can become a powerful witness for Christ.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!”

Psalm 34:8 (NLT)

When others “taste” our lives, they should experience something of Him.

Our Attitude Toward Work

It’s often easy to be loving, responsible, and gracious in the areas of life we cherish most, our family, friends, church, and home.

But what about our work?

Do we show up with a positive, willing heart?

Or do we treat work like an inconvenience?

Do we dream of escape more than impact?

Are we a blessing to our colleagues, clients, and workplace, or do we become a storm cloud that others try to avoid?

Our attitude at work can reveal more about the Kingdom of God than any sermon we preach.

Scripture reminds us:

“Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ… Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.”

Ephesians 6:5–8 (NIV)

This reminds us that our true Boss is Christ. Whether our work is paid or unpaid, it can become an act of worship.

If You Run a Business

If you own a business, your leadership carries enormous Kingdom impact.

Ask yourself:

Do I treat my staff with fairness and honour?
Is my workplace safe, encouraging, and life-giving?
Am I creating opportunities for others to thrive, not just myself?
Do my employees see integrity, humility, and honesty in me?
Does my business bless my employees and their families?
Do my business practices reflect godly principles?

“Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.”

Colossians 4:1 (NKJV)

Your business can be a ministry, not only through what you sell, but through the way you love and lead people.

Integrity in the Marketplace

Our witness is strengthened or weakened by the way we handle money, decisions, and responsibilities.

“Better is a little with righteousness than great income gained with injustice.”

Proverbs 16:8 (AMP)

Are we honest with our finances?

Ethical with our accounting?

Generous toward competitors?

Respectful with creditors?

Kind with customers?

The Kingdom of God is built on integrity.

The Gift of Work

Having work, or even the ability to work, is a blessing. It provides an opportunity to bring God’s love into everyday interactions.

If you do not enjoy your job, you are always free to seek new opportunities, develop new skills, or explore different paths.

But while you are there:

Honour your contract.
Work the hours you agreed to.
Choose a good attitude.
Ask God how you can bring blessing into your workplace.

And if you run your own business?

Ask God for creative and innovative ideas. He loves partnering with you.

Identity Reminder

Perhaps work has been difficult lately.

Maybe you feel drained, discouraged, or overwhelmed. Maybe you have even wondered if God still sees you.

Let this be a gentle reminder today:

You are not forgotten.
You are not alone.
You are not an orphan.

You are a child of the living God, carrying His presence wherever you go.

Prayer

Father,

Thank You for the gift of work and the privilege of carrying Your Kingdom into the everyday moments of our lives.

Teach us to serve wholeheartedly with joy, integrity, and compassion.

Help us see our workplaces and businesses through Your eyes, as places of influence, purpose, and ministry.

Strengthen us where we feel weary.
Renew us where we have grown discouraged.

Remind us daily that we are Your beloved children — never alone and never forgotten.

Use our lives to shine Your goodness to everyone we meet.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Activation

This week, ask the Holy Spirit:

“How can I bring Your Kingdom into my workplace or business today?”

Then pause and listen.

He may prompt you to:

encourage a coworker
show patience toward someone difficult
pray silently for your workplace
practice integrity in a challenging moment
bless someone anonymously
shift your attitude from surviving to serving

Small acts of obedience can create powerful Kingdom ripples.
